My Philosophy

My success has been developed through my use of classical training, using the training pyramid for horse and rider. It is important for the rider to learn what tools to use to become more effective.  I am very good at seeing the blocked areas in a rider that are causing communication problems to the horse.   Extensive research into the biomechanics of the rider's seat has enabled my students to develop and use their seat more effectively and confidently.  Riders of many disciplines such as Hunter Equitation, IEA, Jumping and Western Dressage have benefited from seat lessons.   Instruction in lunge lessons are utilized to improve the rider's seat.

The majority of the horses I work with are mares or sensitive type horses.  I also like to incorporate cavalletti and small jumps to balance the training.  This helps build the horse’s topline as well as enhance their mind. I strive to make riding fun; after all, you own the horse because you love him! There is no greater joy for me than to see every horse and rider improve together.
